Ai.ethics Program

The exponential growth in the use of Artificial Intelligence systems, especially those based on Machine Learning, has revealed how this technology can be a true enhancer of economic activity. Simultaneously, these systems present serious challenges in terms of ethical implications, protection of human rights, as well as social impacts that need to be safeguarded for the benefit of individuals, society, and the economy. These challenges significantly affect the trust of various stakeholders.

In response to this reality, the Portuguese Business Ethics Association (APEE) and the United Nations Association Portugal (UNA PT) have developed the Ai.ethics program with the aim of supporting organizations that produce or use this type of technology to instill confidence in its application.

What is Ai.ethics?

 – A multidisciplinary program to ensure the development and use of robust, legal, ethical, and sustainable Artificial Intelligence Systems.

– Support for organizations to comply with future European legislation, notably the AI Act, and international standards.

– Information events, knowledge sharing, and debates on Artificial Intelligence and associated ethical issues.

– Partnerships with civil society organizations, both national and international.

– Cooperation with public institutions.

– Ai.ethics Platform: A network of organizations where information and knowledge are shared, and organizations can play a leading role in the development of regulatory instruments and similar initiatives on this subject.
